Clinical Interests: Urological Cancers (Prostate, Kidney, Testicular, Bladder), Brain Tumour, Lung Cancer, Cancers of Liver, Stomach, Colon & Rectum.

Dr Tay Miah Hiang serves on the Board of Tamarind Health. He is a Senior Consultant Medical Oncologist at OncoCare Cancer Centre with over 30 years of clinical experience. Known for his patient-first and compassionate approach, his subspecialty interests include lung, gastrointestinal (stomach, colon, rectum), hepatobiliary, and genitourinary cancers (liver, prostate, kidney, testicular, bladder), as well as brain tumors and gynecological cancers (ovarian, uterine, cervical).

Before joining OncoCare, Dr Tay served as a Consultant at the National Cancer Centre Singapore, where he led Patient Education and Survivorship programmes—championing informed and empowered care. After moving into private practice, he went on to be the elected Chairman of Gleneagles Medical Advisory Board from 2014 to 2016. He was an elected member of the Singapore Medical Council from 2017 to 2023, contributing to healthcare governance and upholding ethical standards. Dr Tay also served on the board of the Children’s Cancer Foundation (CCF) from 2006 to 2015, including a term as Chairperson from 2011 to 2013. He continues to contribute today as an advisor.

Beyond his clinical and governance roles, Dr Tay is deeply committed to education, philanthropy and youth development. Drawing inspiration from his own background as a bursary recipient, he founded the OncoCare Medical Bursary at the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine to support financially challenged students. 

He has also played a significant role in nurturing junior squash talent in Singapore by sponsoring national youth tournaments and creating the “Singapore Next Rising Star” award to inspire young athletes. His commitment to giving back extends to the broader community. He led a fundraising walkathon in support of the Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund, and under his leadership, OncoCare actively participated in the Children’s Cancer Foundation’s Hair for Hope initiative.

Dr Tay’s dedication to medical excellence, community outreach and socially responsible care continues to empower patients, support future generations of healthcare professionals, and uplift underserved communities.

He is fluent in English, Mandarin, Hokkien, Teochew, Malay, and Bahasa Indonesia, enabling him to communicate meaningfully with patients from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
