TalkMed Shareholders Approve Tamarind Health’s Privatization Offer

Shareholders of TalkMed Group Limited have overwhelmingly approved Tamarind Health’s privatization scheme. At the meeting held on 15 July 2025, 99.9% of the represented shares voted in favor.

Under the approved scheme, TalkMed will be delisted from the Singapore Exchange (effective 15 September 2025) and integrated into Tamarind Health’s oncology network.

The transaction structure includes service-agreements for founder doctors in their new roles, reinvestment of part of the consideration into Tamarind shares, and safeguards to ensure fairness to independent shareholders under Singapore’s takeover code.

This marks a significant step in Tamarind Health’s vision to unify oncology practices across the region and deepen integrated cancer care capabilities.

The Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore (CCCS) has approved Tamarind Health’s proposed acquisition of TalkMed Group Limited. Following a detailed review, CCCS concluded that the transaction will not result in a substantial lessening of competition within Singapore’s private oncology sector.

This marks an important milestone in Tamarind Health’s mission to build Asia’s leading doctor-led oncology network, uniting renowned specialists and practices across the region to advance cancer care and patient outcomes.

The acquisition strengthens Tamarind Health’s integrated oncology ecosystem, enhancing collaboration between its practices in Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and the Philippines, and expanding access to multidisciplinary expertise, advanced treatments, and compassionate care.

In December 2024, Tamarind Health, supported by 65 Equity Partners, announced a S$0.456 per share offer to privatize TalkMed Group, with plans to delist the company from public trading.

This move is designed to strengthen oncology care by unifying resources, fostering deeper specialization among physicians, and improving patient access to integrated cancer treatment services.

Under the proposed structure, 65 Equity Partners would take an ~18.3% voting stake in Tamarind Health, while doctor shareholders would hold ~31.3%.

TalkMed’s founders (Ang Peng Tiam, Khoo Kei Siong, Lim Hong Liang, Teo Cheng Peng) already hold an 83.06% combined stake and have given irrevocable undertakings to sell their shares.

Tamarind Health’s network now includes oncology and related practices across Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, the Philippines, and more — and this acquisition fits its vision to build a pan-Asian oncology ecosystem.
