About Dr Angela Pang

Dr Angela Pang is a Senior Medical Oncologist with more than 20 years of experience in cancer care. She treats a broad range of cancers, with particular expertise in breast cancer and gastrointestinal cancers, alongside a subspecialty interest in rare and complex cancers.

Among rare cancers, bone and soft tissue sarcomas are a major focus of her clinical practice, research and medical education. In addition to sarcoma, Dr Pang has a strong interest in uncommon and challenging cancers, including rare breast and gastrointestinal malignancies that often require specialised multidisciplinary management. She is committed to providing personalised, evidence-based care tailored to each patient’s diagnosis, treatment goals and overall wellbeing.

Rare Cancer Expertise

Expertise in Sarcoma

Sarcomas, which arise from bone and soft tissues, are a major area of Dr Pang’s clinical practice, research and medical education.

Her specialist interest in sarcoma was strengthened through a Sarcoma Research Fellowship at The Tisch Cancer Institute, Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. Following her return to Singapore, she led/co-led the Musculoskeletal Oncology (Sarcoma) service at the National University Cancer Institute, Singapore (NCIS), where she was involved in the multidisciplinary care of both adult and paediatric patients with sarcoma.

Dr Pang has also contributed to sarcoma research and medical education, including publications on the treatment of advanced soft tissue sarcomas. Her work has been published in international medical journals including JAMA Oncology, Journal of Clinical Oncology, Nature Communications and Clinical Cancer Research.

She is also a member of the Connective Tissue Oncology Society (CTOS), an international professional organisation focused on advancing the understanding and treatment of sarcomas.

Beyond sarcoma, Dr Pang also manages patients with rare and uncommon cancers, including unusual breast cancer subtypes and rare gastrointestinal malignancies that can require specialised, multidisciplinary approaches.

What Dr Pang Wants Patients to Know

Sarcoma is rare, but rarity should never be a barrier to getting the right care. Because these cancers are uncommon, it is especially important to seek specialist input early. An accurate diagnosis and a well-coordinated treatment plan can make a meaningful difference.

Dr Pang’s Approach to Rare Cancer Care

I believe every rare cancer patient deserves both specialist expertise and individual attention. No two situations are exactly alike, which is why I take the time to understand each person’s circumstances before working with them to develop a treatment plan that makes sense for them.

Dr Pang’s Broader Oncology Experience

In addition to rare cancers, Dr Pang treats a broad spectrum of cancers, with particular expertise in breast cancer and gastrointestinal cancers. Her practice encompasses patients with both common and uncommon cancer diagnoses, providing comprehensive, personalised cancer care.

Dr Pang also has a longstanding interest in geriatric oncology. Her specialist training and experience in this field provide an additional perspective when caring for older adults with cancer, ensuring that treatment recommendations are individualised according to overall health, functional status and personal priorities.
