Rare Cancer Expertise

Expertise in Lymphoma & Haematologic Malignancies

Dr Colin Diong has specialist expertise across blood cancers, including lymphoma, leukaemia and myeloma, together with haematopoietic stem cell transplantation and cellular therapies such as CAR T-cell therapy.

Lymphoma has been a longstanding area of his clinical and research interest. With more than 50 recognised types and an evolving understanding of these diseases, lymphoma encompasses considerable biological and clinical diversity. Dr Colin Diong’s interest in the field is driven in part by this complexity and its close relationship with the development and function of the immune system.

His specialist training included a fellowship at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle focused on lymphoma and bone marrow transplantation. He subsequently served as Director of the Lymphoma Service at Singapore General Hospital and Lymphoma Lead at the SingHealth-Duke Blood Cancer Centre.

His work also extends to treatments used for complex blood cancers, including haematopoietic stem cell transplantation and cellular therapies such as CAR T-cell therapy. Today, he serves as Programme Director for Haematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant & Cellular Therapy at Parkway Cancer Centre.

Dr Colin Diong has also been involved in clinical research into newer targeted and immune-based treatments for blood cancers. His interest in lymphoma reflects the field’s continuing evolution, with many newer therapeutic approaches first investigated in lymphoma before being applied more broadly in cancer care.

Dr Colin Diong’s Approach to Rare Cancer Care

My approach is to understand the clinical data and evidence extensively, while always treating patients as the individuals they are. Every disease is unique to the individual patient and can affect different people in different ways.
